Plano Texas Music

A taste of Texas Hill Country is pretty much everything you'd ever expect, but there's also a music school in Plano. Just a few miles south of downtown Dallas, just off Interstate 35, it serves as a gateway to the surrounding area and is a great place to stumble across some of the most popular music venues, restaurants and bars in Texas.

The Central Cluster Band's staff includes Brad Davis, who has been a member of the band since its inception as a newcomer in 2011.

He was also music director of the Tyler Youth Orchestra for five years and is currently the director of the Plano ISD Strings Camp. He has also conducted and taught orchestras at the University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University and Texas A & M University in Dallas.

Before becoming band leader, he taught private horn at Jasper High School for three years and was music director of the Plano ISD Youth Orchestra for two years. Before Jasper, he was a music teacher at the University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University and Texas A & M University in Dallas, and taught at Texas Tech University for four years and the music department at the Texas School of Music in Austin for five years.

In addition to teaching, Michael co-founded the Plano Drumline Competition (PdlC) in 1992 and has developed and expanded it into one of the largest and most successful drumline competitions in the world in the United States. In addition to teaching, he founded the Plano Drum Line or PdlDlC competition in 1993 and helped to develop and develop it as a national competition for middle and high school students from all over the country.

Nunn says: "After Love War Texas started from scratch, it has become the center of the Texas music universe in the D-FW field. Like every previous edition, this year's bill offers as much of what a so-called Texas Country Festival can offer as it can. The regionally divided Texas cuisine - with a focus on the menu - is worth a visit for those who want to experience it at its finest. In addition to the live music it presents, Love War Texas also hosts various other events throughout the year, such as the annual Texas Music Festival and Texas Country Festival.

The local independent station Range will host its first Texas Music Festival, which this year will feature a mix of local and national artists from across the state as well as some of Texas "most popular country music.

The Jasper Legacy Orchestra was recently ranked as the second best orchestra in Texas by the Texas Music Educators Association. The Plano High School Band performs every year at major conventions and competitions across the nation. They performed at the Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Austin and Houston Olympics.

De Hertogh earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Southern Texas and his Master of Arts from Texas A & M University. He earned his PhD in Music Education and a Master of Science in Music Education from the College of Fine Arts at the University of Texas.

Before San Angelo, Davis taught at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas A & M University and Texas State University. He has performed in the USA, Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and Europe and has played in churches and other professional groups. In addition to performing in his own band, he has also collaborated with the Texas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony and Houston Symphony Orchestra.

Hernandez works freelance with the Texas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony and Houston Symphony. His professional affiliation includes appearances in the USA, Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and Europe as well as in other professional groups. He has performed in churches, schools, festivals and other public and private organizations in Texas and around the world. Hern and his professional partners teach at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas A & M University and Texas State University, among others. She has been a member of the San Angelo Chamber Orchestra and the Austin Symphony Orchestra for five years.

Ms. Havenstrite lives in Plano, TX and is an active member of ASTA, TMEA and TODA. She is a frequent guest conductor, clinical physician and adjudicator in the North Texas area. Mark lives in Plano with his wife Mary Ann and their two children Mark Jr. and Katie.

Michael is currently conducting the DFW - based Panhandlers Steel Drum Band and a member of their annual concert series. Michael conducts sub-orchestras and is an active member of the Dallas - Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the Texas Symphony Orchestra and the Houston Symphony Orchestra. He is currently Music Director at the University of Texas at Dallas School of Music and currently Principal Conductor of the Pan Handlers Steel Drum Band, part of their annual performance series, and a regular guest conductor at concerts in Dallas, Houston and Austin.
