The Second Luxury Hotel has opened its doors in Plano, Texas, south of Houston. The Sam Moon Group, a fashion and retail company, opened the doors of its second luxury hotel in Texas on the outskirts of Austin.

The Dallas hotel developer's second hotel on the outskirts of Austin broke ground on its new $1.2 billion hotel and retail complex in Plano, Texas, on May 9, 2018. Located just off I-35W, which leads you from Fort Worth North, this is the first in a series of hotels that are aimed at modernizing what we believe are the most popular shopping and dining areas in the city, as well as its retail district.
The Cotton Belt Railroad Line will also be connected to the Trinity Metro TEXRail Line, which is being developed to connect downtown Fort Worth with DFW Airport. From the east side of Plano, it runs from Richardson Station, which is between the University of Texas and Dallas CityLine, via D FW Airport and Richardson Station.
There are other hotel projects being developed by the Sam Moon Group, but this is the first time I have seen one of them. I saw this in a recent article about Sam's connections and am very excited to be part of their hotel project. This is her first major project in the city of Plano and her second in Texas.
Since the 1960s, Richardson has experienced additional growth, including the construction of the first Sam Moon Center in Richardson in the early 1970s. The Woodlands in 2006, followed by Fort Worth in 2009 and now Plano in 2010. SamMoon centers are between 1,000 and 1.5 million square meters in size and offer a total of more than 2,500 apartments and 5,400 hotel rooms.
In 2002, Richardson built the Richardson Performing Arts Center, which had a total of 1.5 million square feet of office space in 2002, and an adjacent downtown Galatyn Park, which had its own parking garage. The $4.1 billion plan to build a 303-room hotel, which will include 1,000 apartments and 5,400 hotel rooms, will go to general contractor Brasfield Gorrie.
Sam Moon Group has developed a number of luxury hotels in DFW, including the Hyatt Regency Dallas - Fort Worth and Hilton Dallas, as well as a Dallas hotel. But his hotel project is the first of its kind in Arlington and the largest hotel project in the city's history, with a total of 1.5 million square feet of office space and 5,400 hotel rooms. One of the things we've done with [Sam] Moon and Arlington is to do things like this, but we're doing it with all of Arlington.
